VI Encuentro Sectorial del Hidrógeno

The DESSERT project will take part in the VI Encuentro Sectorial del Hidrógeno (PMH2), one of Spain’s leading hydrogen sector events, taking place on 18 November 2025 at the Hotel RIU Plaza España in Madrid.

PMH2 serves as a key meeting point for professionals and organisations across the hydrogen value chain, offering a platform for knowledge exchange, business opportunities, and strategic partnerships.

During the event, the DESSERT project will be showcased through a presentation by Eduardo Tabares (TEKNIKER) titled “Efecto de la fragilización en aceros utilizados en el almacenamiento en cavernas de sal” (Effect of embrittlement in steels used for storage in salt caverns).

The presentation will outline the European DESSERT project’s efforts to develop a new pipeline system with advanced threaded connections for underground hydrogen storage, addressing critical technical challenges such as hydrogen embrittlement and friction-induced wear. The study focuses on the characterisation methods used to assess embrittlement caused by hydrogen exposure and the galling resistance of threaded connections, ensuring their reliability under demanding operational conditions.
