DESSERT will participate in LUBMAT 2026, taking place on 3-4 June 2026 at the Euskalduna Conference Centre in Bilbao, Spain. LUBMAT is an international meeting point for experts in lubrication, tribology, maintenance and condition monitoring, with a strong focus on connecting industrial needs with cutting-edge scientific and technological research.
Within the event programme, DESSERT will contribute with an oral presentation entitled “Hydrogen related mechanisms influencing the galling behaviour of austenitic stainless steels in threaded components”, delivered by Beatriz Fernandez-Diaz, Xana Fernández, Fernando José López-Uruñuela and Gemma Mendoza from TEKNIKER.
The presentation will address key scientific and technical aspects related to the behaviour of austenitic stainless steels in hydrogen environments, with particular attention to threaded components. This contribution is closely aligned with DESSERT’s objective of supporting the development of reliable and safe solutions for underground hydrogen storage, by improving the understanding of material performance under challenging operating conditions.
By joining LUBMAT 2026, DESSERT will have the opportunity to share project results with a specialised audience from both academia and industry, fostering knowledge exchange and strengthening the link between advanced materials research, tribology and real industrial applications.
